Bret Higgins is a bassist, composer/songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Toronto, Canada.  

He leads a varied career that encompasses writing music for film and media, original music for ensembles, co-writes with singer-songwriters, producing, arranging, and performing and recording with a multitude of artists from across a wide spectrum of contemporary music. The recipient of numerous Canadian awards and arts grants, Bret performs extensively in Toronto, and has toured throughout North America, Europe, South America, Australia, and Asia. He has worked with Soul Pepper Theatre Company in a variety of shows over the past decade, including the ‘Soul Pepper on 42nd Street’ residency in the summer of 2017. Shows included The Melting Pot Trilogy (2016) - Midtown Manhattan: Broadway, Uptown Manhattan: Harlem , Downtown Manhattan: The Melting Pot.
